Heavy MSSM Higgs Bosons at CMS: “LHC wedge” and Higgs-Mass Precision
نویسنده
چکیده
The search for MSSM Higgs bosons will be an important goal at the LHC. In order to analyze the search reach of the CMS experiment for the heavy neutral MSSM Higgs bosons, we combine the latest results for the CMS experimental sensitivities based on full simulation studies with state-of-the-art theoretical predictions of MSSM Higgs-boson properties. The experimental analyses are done assuming an integrated luminosity of 30 or 60 fb. The results are interpreted as 5 σ discovery contours in MSSM MA–tan β benchmark scenarios. Special emphasis is put on the variation of the Higgs mixing parameter μ. While the variation of μ can shift the prospective discovery reach (and correspondingly the “LHC wedge” region) by about ∆ tan β = 10, the discovery reach is rather stable with respect to the impact of other supersymmetric parameters. Within the discovery region we analyze the accuracy with which the masses of the heavy neutral Higgs bosons can be determined. An accuracy of 1–4% should be achievable, depending on MA and tanβ. Search for Heavy Neutral MSSM Higgs Bosons with CMS: Reach and Higgs-Mass Precision
The search for MSSM Higgs bosons will be an important goal at the LHC. We analyze the search reach of the CMS experiment for the heavy neutral MSSM Higgs bosons with an integrated luminosity of 30 or 60 fb. This is done by combining the latest results for the CMS experimental sensitivities based on full simulation studies with state-of-the-art theoretical predictions of MSSM Higgs-boson propert...
متن کاملSingle Heavy MSSM Higgs Production at e+e− Linear Collider
The measurement of the properties of the heavy Higgs bosons H, A and H± of Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) could tell us a lot about the MSSM parameters. The mass of the heavy Higgses are related to the overall scale mA0 (CP-odd Higgs mass), with a distinctive mass relation between mA0 , mH0 andmH± in MSSM. The heavy Higgs couplings to the fermions are sensitive to tanβ (the ratio ...
متن کاملPotential for Higgs Physics at the LHC and Super-LHC
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN and the two multipurpose detectors, Atlas and CMS, have been built in order to discover the Higgs boson, if it exists, and explore the theoretical landscape beyond the standard model [1, 2]. The LHC will collide protons with unprecedented center-of-mass energy ( √ s = 14 TeV) and luminosity (10 cms); the Atlas and CMS detectors will record these interacti...
متن کاملHiggs Boson Properties and BSM Higgs Boson Searches at LHC
In the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), the minimal extension of the Standard Model (SM), two Higgs doublets are required, resulting in five observable Higgs bosons. Three of them are electrically neutral (h, H , and A) while two of them are charged (H). At tree level their properties like masses, widths and branching fractions can be predicted in terms of only two parameters, typi...

This paper describes search strategies considered in the LHC collaborations ATLAS and CMS for the discovery of the heavy Higgs bosons A, H and H± of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. The emphasis is put on the channels that allow to cover a large fraction of the (mA, tanβ) parameter space. a) Financially supported by the FNRS and by the Belgian Federal Office for Scientific, Technical ...
